Have you ever wondered… how to create a website?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating your website. You’ll find some free and easy-to-use tools, as well as others with paid options. Almost all websites are built using some type of tool.

Maybe you’re a professional looking to create an online portfolio, an entrepreneur who wants to add seriousness and authority to their business, or a medium-sized company that needs a platform to bring an already established business into the digital world.
You came here because you already have the idea; now you just need to know how to get started.
The first step is CHOOSING THE RIGHT TOOL.
There are hundreds of tools available to build websites. For practical purposes, we can divide them into three groups:
- Frameworks, which are the most difficult to use because they require programming knowledge.
- Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Website Builders.
Frameworks: Environments that allow you to program and build your own website from scratch.
Website Builders: A website builder such as Hostinger, Wix, or Shopify (for e-commerce). It’s a visual builder, easy to use, and it doesn’t require programming.
A CMS like WordPress is very similar to a website builder, but it allows you to use the visual builder of your choice.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while developing websites for myself and for my clients is to choose the right tool from the beginning. Doing so can save you time, money, effort, and a lot of headaches. WordPress is usually the best option, unless you are building a complex social platform like LinkedIn, where you would typically use a framework. Most likely, you want to build a website for a personal brand, a small business, or a content-focused site. In that case, WordPress is the best choice. Why?
Because it gives you full ownership of your website, unlimited customization, better SEO control, and the ability to expand your website’s functionality without needing to switch platforms. Once you choose the right tool, we move on to step two.
Step 2: Choose a Hosting Provider. But what is hosting? In simple terms, hosting is renting space on a server where your website files are stored. This server runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is connected to the internet so that anyone can access your website at any time. EHaving hosting is essential for your website to function.I’ve tried many providers and, in my experience, especially for beginners, I recommend Hostinger. It’s reliable, affordable, and easy to use.
Step 3: Install WordPress.org. Install WordPress.org. Click the link to see the step-by-step installation guide.
Step 4: Get a Domain Name. Usually, when you purchase a Hostinger plan, you get one or more free domain names. At this stage, you should already have your domain name ready, or at least be clear about your brand name. Here are some recommendations for choosing the right domain name. But remember the main rule:
keep it short, memorable, and related to your business or brand.
Step 5: Install a Free Theme. I recommend Astra or Blocksy, since they are highly customizable, clean, and modern themes. Just choose the one that best fits your communication style and brand identity.
Step 6: Customize Your Website. Add all your information and start building your pages. At this stage, I usually create a temporary “coming soon” page while I work on the real website. I normally use the LightStart plugin because it’s easy to install and very compatible. This temporary page will be displayed to visitors while you build your website. You can either show a simple “website under construction” message or build anticipation with a countdown timer for your launch day.
Step 7: Create a Contact Page. This page is very important and is part of your sales funnel. Think carefully about the information you need to qualify your leads, and create a form that is easy to find on your website. The most commonly used plugin for this step is WPForms.
Step 8: Customize Your Header. Your header is one of the most powerful elements of your website.
Place the most important sections here in a clear and logical order, such as:
Logo – Home – About Me – Projects – Services – Contact – Call to Action.
Step 9: Optimize Your Website for Mobile and Tablets. Last but not least, mobile optimization is crucial, especially for SEO. A mobile-optimized website will have much greater visibility than one that isn’t optimized.
Perfect. Congratulations! You now have your website ready to launch your business into the digital world.
